Should I start studying for my CPA exam or do my masters?
Q. I graduated with my Bachelors in Accounting in 2007. I have worked as an Accountant since then. I want to improve my skills and get a better job. Should I go to grad school, or should I buy a CPA book and start studying for my CPA exam? I have learned a lot from being an accountant, and what would be more beneficial for me? Would I be able to take my CPA exam (and understand its information) without doing my masters?

A. I do believe you need a certain number of graduate credits to be eligible to write the exam. Depends on the state, but I've heard up to 30 credits. best check the state you plan to practice in. I would go CPA over Masters in accountancy - CPA allows you to practice and to sign off on audits, etc. Masters is good for a long-term career, but for now, CPA would be the better bet. and yes, you would be able to understand the information without doing a masters. you may also consider doing the CMA - less known but it's probably easier to get. always nice to get more letters behind your name

A. There are lots of recruitment agencies that might be able to help you - per the first answerer. Here is another one I have no connection or receive any commission from them. I think they "specialise" in looking after small businesses. (I think) I think recruitment is a tricky process. Have you been trying to advertise? Maybe the job is not described properly in the ad? That could be a turn off. Maybe the job ad is too vague. Different accountants have different skills and specialisations - if it's too vague I personally would just move on to the next ad, rather than trying to figure out what that vague ad is trying to say. If you don't know whether the job is too vague or not - yeah - maybe a recruitment agent can help. Maybe. It's… [cont.]

How can I find a list of all states requirements for cpa exam?
Q. Does anyone know if I can access a brief list of all states showing their cpa exam requirements. Kind of like an excel spreadsheet data form.
